With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Carl Nappa is a seasoned Producer, Engineer, and Educator with a wealth of experience in the music industry.  Carl started his career in his hometown of Boston before moving to New York City to engineer at the renowned Hit Factory Recording Studios where he refined his craft through collaborations with legendary Artists, Engineers, and Producers. Carl has played an integral role in the success of 39 Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum records, with two prestigious Diamond awards. Carl’s Engineering, Mixing, or Producing credits on records have accounted for over 85.5 million records sold in the United States alone. A fateful meeting and collaboration with Artist Nelly evolved into an enduring 15-plus-year professional relationship. In 2016, Carl founded The Saint Louis Recording Club, his recording studio in St. Louis, enabling him to contribute to a diverse array of musical projects, from producing and mixing Grammy-nominated albums to nurturing emerging recording artists.  In 2019 Carl was a full-time Artist in Residence at Webster University in St. Louis and by 2022, he assumed the role of Chair of the Audio Aesthetics and Technology Program at the School of Communications. In 2023, Carl established his new independent record company, Chain of Rocks Records. The label focuses on promoting and distributing promising St. Louis artists.
