Safiya has been singing since age 8, recently performing with The Sheldon All-Star Chorus and Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and earning a 2025 St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Award nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role. After graduating, she plans to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre while exploring her passion for music therapy.
For Safiya, performing is about impact. She believes art has the power to invoke a range of emotions, allowing her to connect meaningfully with her audience when she sings.
This year, she brings a raw, emotional performance of “Maybe I Like It This Way” from The Wild Party to the Fabulous Fox Stage, using vulnerability and storytelling to raise awareness around domestic violence.
