Get ready to feel the rhythm with Rashad Laurel, a junior at Central Visual & Performing Arts High School and a tap dancer who brings pure energy to the stage. Dancing since the age of 3, Rashad blends old-school and new-generation tap into a performance that’s all about personality, power, and connection with the audience.
Inspired by music that makes you move, his teachers, and legendary tap dancers who came before him, Rashad’s act is a celebration of tap’s past, present, and future. His goal is to make the audience so excited they want to jump out of their seats and dance along.
Having trained at CVPA and Best Dance & Talent Center, Rashad is a competitive dancer performing at events like Spotlight, Talent On Parade, and Hall of Fame—and he’s just getting started. He plans to pursue the performing arts after high school with one big goal in mind: becoming one of the greatest performers out there.
Catch Rashad lighting up the stage at the Teen Talent Final Round with his infectious, high-energy tap performance to “I’m Still Standing” from the movie Sing, and trust us, you won’t be able to sit still!
